Carol of the Bells, Christmas Carol, Candlelight Dinners/Entertainment C...

http://www.musicnewjersey.com

Merry Christmas!

Entertainment Consultants features this very talented group of High School singers.
They were performing at a Candlelight Dinner event at a New Jersey country club.

Our Candlelight Dinners feature Dickens Carolers in the lobby or as your guests enter your venue...followed by a classical group of musicians as an accompaniment to dinner...when dessert is served: a local high school choir will perform.

The students in these choirs have to audition in their local high schools to be part of this select group of singers, then  we audition a number of high school choirs before we select the ones that will be hired by us.  We only offer jobs to the very best choirs.

Note:  Please excuse the clicking sound that you hear.  When we tape events we try not to disturb the guests or singers.  We use very small cameras; the clicking is the sound the camera makes when you try to adjust the lens.

Idol Kings in concert, perform Journey's "Anyway You Want It"

The Idol Kings are the East Coast's premiere rock tribute band! In this video-clip, they pay homage to the beloved 80's hair band: Journey.

This Journey tribute is known for taking their show a few steps further than the average rock music band; they not only sound just like the band they emulate, they also change to look like the members of the band. They recreate the music band they are paying homage to, as much as they can. This is the reason that the Idol Kings are kept so busy doing concerts throughout the Northeast.

We have them for concerts, corporate events and weddings. In this video-clip they were doing an outdoor concert in Parsippany, New Jersey. The first set of the evening had been a John Cougar Mellencamp set...this video is of the second set.

Those of you responsible for planning the entertainment at country clubs should also consider this band, because their show format can work seamlessly with the operation of the catering and wait staff.

Sue Williams bass

Jane Stuart Bio:

Jane shared the stage with Richard Gere, Jessica Harper and the late Vicki Sue Robinson (Turn The Beat Around) in "A Long Time Comin' A Long Time Gone" written by Richard Farina. Jane's portrayal of Joan Baez (Richard Farina's sister- in-law) was another dramatic success for her. Her reviews were outstanding.

Jane was featured in an innovative jazz musical, "Sambo", written by Ron Steward, for Joe Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival Theatre. This show was a part of the Jazz Mobile Theater that performed throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The all star orchestra featured many legendary jazz musicians such as, Woody Shaw, Hal Vick and Freddie Waites to name a few.

In addition to stage appearances, some of Jane's recording career consists of singing solo and background for National commercials. A few of her most popular "jingles" for TV and radio are: Bain de Soleil, Chevrolet's "Heartbeat Of America", Freedent Gum, Hawaiian Punch, and Stetson Cologne. Many of these were sung in groups consisting of Jane with Valerie Simpson, Patti Austin, Leslie Miller, Shawn Colvin and Vivian Cherry. Jane also sang on "Could It Be Magic" from Barry Manilow's first album.

One of Jane's favorite performances, to be added to the list of many clubs and concert halls, was when she was part of the opening act for the great Sid Caesar at the renowned Rainbow Room in New York City. This act was comprised of Kathe Green (daughter of composer Johnny Green) and Grammy winner K.T.Oslin.

Jane Stuart's debut CD, "Beginning To See The Light" received the very prestigious Blue Chip Award for "Best Jazz Vocals", presented by Dr. Herb Wong for the International Association of Jazz Educators. She received accolades from jazz writers, reviewers and the general jazz community for this CD, her first effort as leader, producer and arranger with co-producer Rave Tesar.

about the song,"Getting to Know You,"

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Getting to Know You"

Song from The King and I

Published 1951

Writer Oscar Hammerstein II
Composer Richard Rodgers

"Getting to Know You" is a show tune from the 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I. It was first sung by Gertrude Lawrence in the original Broadway production and later by Marni Nixon who dubbed for Deborah Kerr in the 1956 film adaptation. In this show, Anna sings the song as she strikes up a warm and affectionate relationship with the children and the wives of the King of Siam.

This song is one of the few cases during the Rodgers and Hammerstein partnership when Rodgers re-used a melody he had written for an earlier show and then discarded. In this case the melody was a tune he wrote for South Pacific, called "Suddenly Lucky", which he originally intended for the character of Nellie to sing but replaced it with the song "(I'm in Love with) a Wonderful Guy". Mary Martin, the star of South Pacific, who had proposed that Rodgers should cast Yul Brynner as the King, reminded Rodgers of this tune, and so Hammerstein wrote new lyrics to it.James Taylor covered the song off of the children's music compilation called For Our Children.
