Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, performed by high school students

http://www.musicnewjersey.com

"Hallelujah Chorus,"  performed by NPHS Jazz Choir

This high school choir is performing Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" at a Candlelight Dinner Celebration.  We contract out a series of choirs to perform concerts at holiday parties and corporate events throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.  All choirs are carefully selected and have to undergo an audition process.

Each student that you see in this choir takes private vocal lessons in their high school.
Part of this program includes a solo performance at a vocal recital, twice yearly.  These recitals are always filled with family and friends;  they a great way to showcase the progress that each child has made throughout their high school years.

Messiah Part II
by George Frideric Handel

The last page of the Hallelujah Chorus, ending Part II, in Handel's manuscript
Year 1741
Period Baroque
Genre Oratorio
Text Charles Jennens, a compilation from the King James Bible and the Book of Common Prayer

Messiah (HWV 56), the English-language oratorio composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741, is structured in three parts. This listing covers Part II in a table and comments on individual movements, reflecting the relation of the musical setting to the text. Part I begins with the prophecy of the Messiah and his birth, shows the annunciation to the shepherds and reflects the Messiah's deeds on earth. Part II covers the Passion in nine movements including the oratorio's longest movement, an air for alto He was despised, then mentions death, resurrection, ascension, and reflects the spreading of the Gospel and its rejection. The part is concluded by a scene called "God's Triumph" which culminates in the "Hallelujah Chorus". Part III of the oratorio concentrates on Paul's teaching of the resurrection of the dead and Christ's glorification in heaven.

Carol of the Bells, Christmas Carol, Candlelight Dinners/Entertainment C...

http://www.musicnewjersey.com

Merry Christmas!

Entertainment Consultants features this very talented group of High School singers.
They were performing at a Candlelight Dinner event at a New Jersey country club.

Our Candlelight Dinners feature Dickens Carolers in the lobby or as your guests enter your venue...followed by a classical group of musicians as an accompaniment to dinner...when dessert is served: a local high school choir will perform.

The students in these choirs have to audition in their local high schools to be part of this select group of singers, then  we audition a number of high school choirs before we select the ones that will be hired by us.  We only offer jobs to the very best choirs.

Note:  Please excuse the clicking sound that you hear.  When we tape events we try not to disturb the guests or singers.  We use very small cameras; the clicking is the sound the camera makes when you try to adjust the lens.

Idol Kings in concert, perform Journey's "Anyway You Want It"

The Idol Kings are the East Coast's premiere rock tribute band! In this video-clip, they pay homage to the beloved 80's hair band: Journey.

This Journey tribute is known for taking their show a few steps further than the average rock music band; they not only sound just like the band they emulate, they also change to look like the members of the band. They recreate the music band they are paying homage to, as much as they can. This is the reason that the Idol Kings are kept so busy doing concerts throughout the Northeast.

We have them for concerts, corporate events and weddings. In this video-clip they were doing an outdoor concert in Parsippany, New Jersey. The first set of the evening had been a John Cougar Mellencamp set...this video is of the second set.

Those of you responsible for planning the entertainment at country clubs should also consider this band, because their show format can work seamlessly with the operation of the catering and wait staff.

Entertainment Consultants and Music New Jersey present: The Jane Stuart Jazz Quartet, performing "Getting to Know You"

Members of Jane Stuart Quartet

Jane Stuart vocals
Rave Tesar keyboards
Rick De Kovessey drums
Sue Williams bass

Jane Stuart Bio:

Jane shared the stage with Richard Gere, Jessica Harper and the late Vicki Sue Robinson (Turn The Beat Around) in "A Long Time Comin' A Long Time Gone" written by Richard Farina. Jane's portrayal of Joan Baez (Richard Farina's sister- in-law) was another dramatic success for her. Her reviews were outstanding.

Jane was featured in an innovative jazz musical, "Sambo", written by Ron Steward, for Joe Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival Theatre. This show was a part of the Jazz Mobile Theater that performed throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The all star orchestra featured many legendary jazz musicians such as, Woody Shaw, Hal Vick and Freddie Waites to name a few.

In addition to stage appearances, some of Jane's recording career consists of singing solo and background for National commercials. A few of her most popular "jingles" for TV and radio are: Bain de Soleil, Chevrolet's "Heartbeat Of America", Freedent Gum, Hawaiian Punch, and Stetson Cologne. Many of these were sung in groups consisting of Jane with Valerie Simpson, Patti Austin, Leslie Miller, Shawn Colvin and Vivian Cherry. Jane also sang on "Could It Be Magic" from Barry Manilow's first album.

One of Jane's favorite performances, to be added to the list of many clubs and concert halls, was when she was part of the opening act for the great Sid Caesar at the renowned Rainbow Room in New York City. This act was comprised of Kathe Green (daughter of composer Johnny Green) and Grammy winner K.T.Oslin.

Jane Stuart's debut CD, "Beginning To See The Light" received the very prestigious Blue Chip Award for "Best Jazz Vocals", presented by Dr. Herb Wong for the International Association of Jazz Educators. She received accolades from jazz writers, reviewers and the general jazz community for this CD, her first effort as leader, producer and arranger with co-producer Rave Tesar.

about the song,"Getting to Know You,"

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Getting to Know You"

Song from The King and I

Published 1951

Writer Oscar Hammerstein II
Composer Richard Rodgers

"Getting to Know You" is a show tune from the 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I. It was first sung by Gertrude Lawrence in the original Broadway production and later by Marni Nixon who dubbed for Deborah Kerr in the 1956 film adaptation. In this show, Anna sings the song as she strikes up a warm and affectionate relationship with the children and the wives of the King of Siam.

This song is one of the few cases during the Rodgers and Hammerstein partnership when Rodgers re-used a melody he had written for an earlier show and then discarded. In this case the melody was a tune he wrote for South Pacific, called "Suddenly Lucky", which he originally intended for the character of Nellie to sing but replaced it with the song "(I'm in Love with) a Wonderful Guy". Mary Martin, the star of South Pacific, who had proposed that Rodgers should cast Yul Brynner as the King, reminded Rodgers of this tune, and so Hammerstein wrote new lyrics to it.James Taylor covered the song off of the children's music compilation called For Our Children.

#Adding #Annotations & #Subscription #Links to your #YouTube #Videos

How to Add Annotation & Subscription Links to your YouTube Videos

Why use annotations?

We have noticed that some of our friends fail to use some very useful tools that YouTube provides.  Hopefully this video and explanation will get you to consider the importance of annotations, and get you to use them.

Annotations can be quite useful in conveying to your viewer information they would otherwise miss.  They are vital to anyone who runs a business and uses YouTube to showcase their product.

Most people coming to a YouTube video, want short & sweet!  No one wants to spend a lifetime watching a video, they simply do not have the time.  Unless your video is worthy of an Academy Award, your viewer will not scroll over to the 'About' section to learn more.

How do you give your viewers the information they need to contact you, to subscribe to your channel, upcoming events, item names or id numbers?  You  have the option to include all of this information in your 'description', and you should do so.  The problem with just using the description option is that most visitors to your YouTube channel will never delve that far into the page.  In addition, if you are linking your video to Facebook or Google+, the description never comes up.  The only thing that shows up is the video!  If you use the annotations feature, you have the ability to put all relevant information on the video itself.  If the viewer doesn't want to see it, they can click it away.

Liechtensteiner Polka , Oktoberfest Orchestra for NY/NJ/CT

http://www.musicnewjersey.com

"Liechtensteiner Polka"  performed during Oktoberfest Celebrations for Entertainment Consultants and Music New Jersey.

Those of you planning fun events for the Fall, should consider our Oktoberfest musicians for your party.  These guys plan an entire series of German themed games for your guests' enjoyment.  They alternate the music by playing traditional Saxon folk songs and more modern fare.

We like to shoot our videos right where the action is.  This performance was at a country club in New Jersey.  Immediately in front of the bandstand people were dancing and singing(trying to) .  This was an evening where a good time was had by all!

The only place we could shoot the video was on the sidelines.  We're not entirely happy with the look or the sound, because of where we had to stand.  However, the fun factor of this group of musicians comes through loud and clear.

From Wikipedia:

Will Glahé (February 12, 1902 -- November 21, 1989), was a German accordionist, composer, and bandleader.  Glahé was born at Elberfeld. In the 1930s, he was, along with Heinz Munsonius and Albert Vossen, one of the most successful accordionists in Germany. He led his own orchestra from 1932 and became successful particularly in popular music.

One of his most famous songs in Germany was his 1936 recording of "Rosamunde" (a German female forename), a cover version of the song "Škoda lásky" ("Wasted Love") by Jaromir Vejvoda. Under the title "Beer Barrel Polka", the tune hit #1 on the Hit Parade in the United States in 1939. After World War II he was known as the "Polka King" in the U.S., and did both big band and folk music arrangements with his orchestra.

His "Liechtensteiner Polka" was also a hit in the U.S., hitting #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1957. The follow-up single "Sweet Elizabeth" (1958) appeared in all major U.S. charts, nearing the top 40 in Cashbox and Music Vendor.
He died in Rheinbreitbach.

Idol Kings perform outdoor concert in Parsippany

"Lonely Ol' Night," The Idol Kings, Tribute Band, John Cougar Mellencamp & Journey

Live in Parsippany

In the warm summer months, you can find concerts all throughout the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Those of us living in the New York Metropolitan Area need to be outdoors as much as possible during the warm months of June, July and August.
We videotaped this Rock Tribute Band during one such concert.

We were pretty far from the bandstand, yet the sound on our camera still comes through nicely. When you hire this tribute band, they perform two sets per evening.  They are available for concerts, corporate events, holiday parties, weddings.  Their repertoire is extensive, and the musicians are very talented.  Check out the guitar solo towards the end of this song.

The sets are as follows:

The first set of the evening was John Cougar Mellenamp:
They dress like the band, and sound just like them. You can hear their voices harmonize quite well. The lead singer in this set sounds just like John Cougar Mellencamp!

The second set on this particular evening was devoted to Journey:
For this set, the lead singers switch. Some of the band members will play a different instrument, and they all change their clothing and appearance to look like the rock band, Journey.

In this clip, they are performing a well loved, Ray Charles classic:  What'd I Say

About the song:

What'd I Say

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to be confused with What I'd Say or What I Say.
"What'd I Say"

Genre Soul, blues, rock and roll

Writer(s) Ray Charles

"What'd I Say" (or "What I Say") is a song by American rhythm and blues (R&B) musician Ray Charles, released in 1959 as a single divided into two parts. It was improvised one evening late in 1958 when Charles, his orchestra, and backup singers had played their entire set list at a show and still had time left; the response from many audiences was so enthusiastic that Charles announced to his producer that he was going to record it.
After his run of R&B hits, this song finally broke Charles into mainstream pop music and itself sparked a new sub-genre of R&B titled soul, finally putting together all the elements that Charles had been creating since he recorded "I Got a Woman" in 1954. The gospel influences combined with the sexual innuendo in the song made it not only widely popular but very controversial to both white and black audiences. It earned Ray Charles his first gold record and has been one of the most influential songs in R&B and rock and roll history. For the rest of his career, Charles closed every concert with the song. It was added to the National Recording Registry in 2002 and ranked at number 10 in Rolling Stone's "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

Here We Come A-wassailing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here We Come A-wassailing (or Here We Come A-caroling) is an English traditional Christmas carol and New Years song, apparently composed c. 1850. The old English wassail song refers to 'wassailing', or singing carols door to door wishing good health.

According to Readers Digest; "the Christmas spirit often made the rich a little more generous than usual, and bands of beggars and orphans used to dance their way through the snowy streets of England, offering to sing good cheer and to tell good fortune if the householder would give them a drink from his wassail bowl or a penny or a pork pie or, let them stand for a few minutes beside the warmth of his hearth. The wassail bowl itself was a hearty combination of hot ale or beer, apples, spices and mead, just alcoholic enough to warm tingling toes and fingers of the singers

Call Me Maybe

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Writer(s) Carly Rae Jepsen, Josh Ramsay, Tavish Crowe

"Call Me Maybe" is a song recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen for her EP Curiosity (2012) and appearing on her international debut album, Kiss. The song was written by Jepsen and Tavish Crowe as a folk song, but its genre was modified to pop following the production by Josh Ramsay.  "Call Me Maybe" is an upbeat teen pop track that draws influences from dance-pop and disco. Lyrically, the track alludes to the inconvenience that a love at first sight brings to a girl who hopes for a call back from a crush.

Frank Sinatra Impersonator for New York, New Jersey & Connecticut

http://www.musicnewjersey.com

Entertainment Consultants and Music New Jersey present:
Gary S., Frank Sinatra impersonator, performing "All of Me."

We know everybody is in love with 'Mad Men';  we have done quite a few 'Mad Men' themed events.   The show has influenced home design,  fashions, and entertainment.

Frank Sinatra was one of the most iconic entertainers of the 50's and 60's.   Gary(our Frank Sinatra impersonator) pays tribute to Ol' Blue Eyes.

Jazz Music for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut

The Manhattan Jazz Trio performs:   Have You Met Miss Jones

http://www.musicnewjersey.com

The Manhattan Jazz Trio is performing a well loved jazz standard:  Have You Met Miss Jones.

One of our favorite Jazz groups, The Manhattan Trio is available for cocktail parties, dinners, concerts...or those times when you simply want the sophistication that only jazz can give.

We also recommend this group of Jazz musicians for weddings.  Those of you choosing one of our DJ's for your New York, New Jersey or Connecticut wedding may want to incorporate live music at your event;  this Jazz trio would be perfect during the cocktail hour of your wedding reception.

We strongly suggest having some form of live music at weddings.  Jazz as a backdrop gives a very sophisticated feel to an event.

Small groups like this one make it very easy for your guests' conversation;  the volume is loud enough to hear and low enough that  your friends and family can hear themselves speak.

The Manhattan Jazz Trio:

Vinnie Cutro, trumpet
Bob Himmelberger, keyboards, bass
Joe Verrusio, Jazz guitar

"One Love / People Get Ready"
Single by Bob Marley & The Wailers
from the album Exodus
Released 1977
Format 7"
Recorded 1977
Genre Roots reggae
Length 2:51
Label Tuff Gong
Writer(s) Bob Marley, Curtis Mayfield

The Wailers "One Love/People Get Ready"

The song contains an interpolation of The Impressions' song "People Get Ready" written by Curtis Mayfield. The original recording of the song does not credit Mayfield's song and is simply titled "One Love" - this because copyright law was not enforced for Jamaican recordings at this time. When the famous version was recorded for Island in 1977 it was titled "One Love/People Get Ready" and credited Mayfield, as Island wanted to avoid copyright problems; and it gives co-authorship credits to both Marley and Mayfield. This song was inspired by Marley's friend Roman Selvaggio, a North Caribbean painter. The original song was published in the key of Bb major, but it has now been transposed so it is in the key of C major.
